In Budget 2024 the Government provided over €68 million to extend the free schoolbooks scheme to eliminate the cost of schoolbooks for students in Junior Cycle years in post-primary schools in the Free Education Scheme. The Government has introduced a new scheme from the start of the new school year 2024/25. Therefore, all books and most stationary will be provided to students in 1st, 2nd and 3rd year.
As a school we already operate a book rental system and those books are still provided to the Senior Cycle classes. However, they will need to purchase items such as copies, novels and exam papers. The following list details the items Senior Cycle students need for each subject.
