The role of the HSCL is to provide a source of help and support between home and school. It promotes partnership to ensure pupils fully engage in school life. Parents are supported and encouraged to get involved through a variety of activities:
The Home School Community Liaison scheme has been in operation in St. Kevin’s College since 1996.
It is a preventative strategy which targets pupils at risk of not reaching their full potential in the education system or leaving school early. Home School aims to promote Partnership between home school and community to ensure pupils fully engage in school life. It takes a whole school approach recognising parents as the primary educators of their children. Remember – children only spend 15% of their time in school.

Home School Community Liaison also works very closely with the School Completion Programme.
Home School is also conscious of the role the school and community play together in the development of the student/parent body.
